An Advantage of Using Feedburner

About a month ago I moved all my feeds to feedburner, the main reason I did this was because I wanted more accurate statistics of how many subscribers I have (instead of everyone being scattered across various different types).

Well now that I moved the url of my websites another advantage is that the old feed doesn’t get outdated. All I had to do is activated Feedburner Feedsmith plugin and my new website address automatically directed all updates to the same old feedburner URL.

New Address, New Design

Well I know at least a few dozen people read this site through a feed reader, just wanted to say that I changed the web address from ashhaque.com to ashhaque.com/blog/, and the blog design has also changed. So if you are reading this through a feed reader make sure you drop by the site and check out the changes.

Next Generation iPod

Gizmodo has a pretty slick mockup of the next generation iPod. Pretty much what everyone expected, an iPhone without the phone part.

Russell Peters Outsourced Terrorist

Russell Peters take on terrorism, a touchy subject for some, but I’m sure this will have almost everyone cracking up:

Google and Nokia type iPhones

Looks like both Nokia and Google are poised to release their own version of the iPhone in the next year or two. I’m not the biggest fan of touch screen interfaces (especially in Canada when they tend to malfunction outside in the winter) but it looks like the market wants widescreen, touch type phones, so that’s what they’re getting.

The Play Station Phone

The Playstation (PSP) Phone

Peter Ahnegard, the Sony Ericsson game dude, announced that they were working on a psp type phone. It won’t be available for quite a while, they said it’ll be out by Christmas but made a note note not to specify which Christmas. It looks pretty promising, maybe it’s because I’ve used tons of different SE phones (s710, k750i, w800i, k790, w900i, p910i) and I’ve have always liked their combination of features and functionality.

Your Daughters Date

Ever wonder how you should answer the door if your daughters date rings the doorbell? Well Martin Lawrence, and Will Smith show you how it’s done right (warning: some expletive language):

Trade: Unlocked iPhone for Sports Car

George Hotz, the 17 year old kid who unlocked the iPhone, recently traded away the model for a sports car and 3 other iPhones. He posted the following on his blog:

Terry Daidone, the founder of Certicell contacted me this morning, and offered to make a trade for the iPhone. I traded it for a sweet Nissan 350Z and 3 8GB iPhones. I will be sending the iPhones, unlocked if they wish, to jpetrie(the first donater), gray(the reversing genius), and iProof(who is truly amazing at finding stuff online) Thanks a lot everyone. I leave for college tomorrow, and this has been a great end to a great summer. If I ever do anything more with the iPhone, it’ll definitely be posted here. Also I contacted iphonesimfree and offered to verify on this blog their claims of a software unlock.

Source

On August 21st he gained fame around the world wide web when he announced he had achieve a full unlock of the iPhone. He also posted the entire procedure on his blog:

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3
  4. My Finished Step 3
  5. Zoomed In Step 3
  6. Step 4
  7. Step 5
  8. Step 6
  9. Step 7
  10. Step 8
  11. Step 9
  12. Step 10: The Last One

Site Wide Changes

I am going to be doing some site wide changes here so it may be down / under construction for the next few days.

  1. Move the blog to a subdirectory; ashhaque.com/blog/ to open room for other content
  2. Touch up the site design
  3. Focus the content more on three specific categories, technology, internet, and humor

Digg Redesign

Digg Redesign

Looks like Digg just launched their new website design yesterday. I dunno if it’s just me but I’m really not feeling the new color combination, especially around the header, maybe a little excessive on the green. I do like the functional changes though:

  • Videos back on the homepage.
  • Videos in Top 10 feed (and other filters)
  • Navigation and backend changes to support Digg Images
  • Friends Activity global on header
  • More stories above the fold (no leaderboard ad on top)

Looking forward to when the fix the comment system and add a picture section.
