After pt-web.net started converting from their free hosting to paid hosting I switched almost immediately to centaurinetx. I first saw the advertisement at freewebspace.net while browsing around to see if anyone had a good a good offer for some free hosting. With his hosting I also get much better space and bandwidth.
500 MB space quota
10 GB bandwidth
20 SQL databases

They have a large forum with many members at CnX Forums and the admins there are always helpful. To get hosting you need to make 5 posts in the forum (collect 25 “limes”) and buy a password for the hosting request section from the forum store. After you’ve done that just use what you’ve bought and the password will be displayed on the screen, copy the password and paste it in when you are prompted to do so when entering the request section.
Update
Of course since then I have purchased a hosting account at host monster (300gigs storage, 3TB bandwidth), several domain names, and run my own site.
